View Full Version : Eggs man! -- Redwall food thread

Okay, I've made this thread out of curiousity, and mostly amusement, and some other reasons.

So.... What's your favorite Redwall food, and have you ever tasted a food from "Redwall'? And do you think you can live with Redwall food for your whole life (or at least a long period of time)?

Well, for me, the only food that I really tasted from Redwall was apple scones I think, and they're pretty darn good (I made them at school ^.^)

*looks at subject* Wait... are there even eggs at Redwall? Probably not... unless they take owl eggs or something, which is not a pretty picture.... *imagines and owl attacking Matthias for stealing her eggs for the Nameday feast*

And... I probably don't think I can live on Redwall food, because there is not one mention of ORANGE JUICE (hehe), which I practically live on, and there's no meat besides seafood, and even seafood isn't eaten often besides the shrimp and hotroot soup. Considering that I'm not a vegetarian, and probably will never be, I'll probably sooner or later get tired of Redwall food, no matter how good their deeper'n'ever turnip'n'tater pie is. ,

I'd love some Shrimp 'n' Hotroot Soup, I like shrimpies:)
And no, I'm not a vehetarian. Redwall food would sorta wear off, I prefer all the food groups.
Brings to mind something from Slamandastron, where Samkim is disgusted by vermin because they're eating birds. BJ's not supposed to be vegetarian, though you'd think so.

I've had scones and salad, and that's about it. And strawberries.
I love scones... ^_^

I don't know if I could live without meat for too long. Or popcorn. Or pizza. Or chocolate. Or coca cola. My favourite Redwall food... Not sure. I've never tried anything, besides obvious ones like strawberries, and scones, and such. I get hungry reading the feasts, though. :)

Well... I just can't imagine living without some chicken here and there.... And a ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoe sandwich....

And... I want strawberry cordial! I never had it, but it sounds really refreshing and good. I suppose strawberry fizz will be a bit like strawberry soda.

Well, probably one reason that I wouldn't enjoy living in Redwall that much is because I despise the taste of a good number of vegetables... The only foods that even remotely turn me on are the pastry-ish things. Well, those and strawberry cordial, strawberry fizz, and som others that I can't think of right now...

There's such a thing as strawberry pop? Innnteresting. A lot of the food in Redwall sounds nice, but some of it sounds rather disgusting. Like cheese. I loath cheese. At least they don't have poutines in Redwall. Ugh... Poutines... so disgusting...

Cheese! As long as it isn't in huge, gross amounts with all of these things that they put into the cheese such as peanuts and stuf... ugh! I'm okay with it. I likes cheese. Especially mozzarella (sp?) cheese sticks. Swiss cheese however.... Is degoutant.

I just can't imagine how some of the foods in Redwall will taste.... Like deeper'n'ever turnip'n'tater pie. Doesn't sound very... goods.... Hm... they should really get around to making a complete Redwall cookbook....

I've already had Deeper 'n' Ever Pie, actually. It's very good. ;)

I don't know why, but I have a something against turnips and potatoes. :\ Hm... maybe I can get my Home Ecc teacher to get some recipes for Redwall foods and have us make them! :slagar

If I were ever to wind up living in Redwall I probably eat a whole lot of pasties with mushrooms. After that I would reinvent their entire menu and introduce them to things like lasagna and omlettes.

I'd either have hotroot soup or the mole's famous pie. I loooove hot stuff!

Lots and lots of Hotroot soup. Nothing beats it :D

But i would get tiresome of no meat, your body needs it.

We don't need meat, we need its nutrients! Beans anybody? ;) Yuck!

Anything hot, but not hot enough to burn is good for me.

And I definitely hope Redwall has peanut butter, because I don't want my mouth to be set on fire for an hour after eating hotroot soup!

Peanutbutter helps with that type of stuff?
I can usually handle hot stuff. I have a taste for it.

Ooh, Redwall food... I always get hungry reading the feasts, too. <g>

I haven't had any special Redwall dishes yet, but I'd love to have deeper 'n' ever pie, Bernard Bread, the cheeses, mushroom pasties (I'm a hobbit when it comes to mushrooms <g>), hotroot soup...actually, I can't think of a single Redwall dish I'd turn down. :)

Mm... now I'm hungry... ;)

::shrugs:: Well, it's a food/music quote, and reminiscent of the time when the slightest thing a classical composer said ended up the talk of the town. ;)

Well, that's what my spanish teacher in 6th grade told us...

Ooo, or those mushroom and whatever pasties. Now those always make my mouth water. Especially during this one part in Martin the Warrior where the troupe is eating them...

Considering the fact that I rarely eat nuts with anything or plain, I'm thinking that I wouldn't like those cheeses so much either.

(Yes! Look- I'm still alive!)

Cheeses with nuts, GROSS!!! I'm not keen on nuts, and I HATE cheese! I hate it with a passion! I wouldn't touch it with a twenty metre stick! And with nuts in it! UGH! Actually, I think I'm a bit lactose intolerant, and a bit allergic to nuts, so... If that's even possible. :D
