View Full Version : A Sad Farewell

After one "real" round and almost making it out of beta a second time, the RCQ bids a sad farewell to the world - for now.
The problem originates with the ISP. They;ve decided to block ports 80 and 25. Unless we can find a new home and a new ISP for the serverbox... things look bleak.

:mad::mad: [what I tough of writing here has been censored] Ok, if my ISP blocked any of ports, I'd be outraged. I'd call them and complain! Well, I suppose it's not the fault of guy on the phone... But still.

Um, can't you just use port 8080 instead? Or any other port?

Good point. port 269 seems to work ok.

dan- I'd complain but I think hosting a website is technically a breach of protocol.

So this means we have a reset? :)

It means that the URL is now http://shrubtech.dyndns.org:269/rcq/ ;)

Ah, ok. But we should still have a reset.

Gack! One of the coolest sites ever -- gone! I shall mourn. *does so* It was uberly awesome! The greatest. :(

Anyway, Dandin... I tried that link you sent me and the link above and neither works. I guess port 269 doesn't work, whatever that means. :(

If you need someone to host your site, I'll gladly share some of my space. I have unlimted free without banners.

PHP, mySQL, and Sendmail compatible?

July 27th, 2004, 09:49 PM
Okee, I know it does support PHP and MySQL I'm not really sure about Sendmail. If you want, you can apply for an account there and use the e-mail account it comes with, but webspace can be hard to get. I'm still willing to host it if worse comes to worse, I just don't know if it supports Sendmail.

You can go to the server main page at http://xepher.net

It's well looking in theory...
I'm currently shopping around for a new ISP. We'll see how that goes.
