PC. Self assembled.
Pentium 4
1.8 GHz
40GB HDD
256 MB RAM
64 MB graphic card
CD-RW

I intend to upgrade it after my exams (when i get a job and $$$). I'm thinking of adding a 2nd hard drive, upgrading the RAM, then partitioning my first hard disk and installing Windows ME along with SUSE Linux. The 2nd hard disk will be used to store my data files. But we'll see how it goes... :p

You have a fairly good processor. The thing that is really killing you is RAM. If you don't know how to install it, read the manuals that came with your computer.

I probably have the least recent computer:
PowerPC G3 at 333 MHz
640 MB RAM
Mac OS 10.2.8
80 GB hard Drive
ATI radeon 7000 with 32 MB of RAM

Hm, I did a web page with my specs a while ago, let's see if I can find it. I'm not sure it's up to date (and it doesn't work with firefox I think.):
http://dandin1.ionichost.com/compy386/compy.phtml

I think I'm going to buy a new one soon, certainly with the lag I get and the new games my bro is looking to buy.

Hey, all of you complaining about your computers... these are the specs for Errol, whom I was stuck using for about a year and a half:
Windows 98 (and not the special edition, either)
166 MHz pentium processor thingy... I don't even think it had a roman numeral. :p
Two hard drives, about 3 gigs total
64MB RAM
No CD burner

So, eh... shut up? :p Thankfully, he was quietly retired about a year ago.

My family calls the 166-megger still in service at our house The Dinosaur. Rar. Fortunately, all four of us have our own laptops, some of which are faster than others, and some of which completely stop working and require a complete wipe of the hard drive more than others, just like The Dinosaur. Rar. Mine's newest, though, and so far, so good. Knock on wood.

Evolution, Morpheus. Evolution. Like the dinosaur. (Rar.)

I was thinking the same thing. I do know how to install it, I've just not got around to it. I mean, its pretty sad when Windows 98 computers gets more RAM then my XP. :p I don't exactly have the money to spare right now anyway. How much does it usually cost to upgrade RAM?

Here on campus, I can get a 512 MB Kingston RAM (not too sure if it's SD or DDR - but my motherboad can take both) for S$109.

This thing here is Windows XP professional... And that's about all I know.

I do know that my mum's computer is running with Office 98 and Powerpoint 95, our house's only copy of Powerpoint. It's a wee bit slow. If Open Office hadn't crashed on me, I could use that, but for now I'm stuck with Powerpoint.

You can get it for much cheaper than that.

He's not talking about American or Canadian currency. Note the S$109.

Singapore currency, I believe? On a side note, I only know one person from Singapore in my non-online life.

You're right, Furrtil... i did mean Singapore currency S$109... about US$66. ;)
It may be cheaper elsewhere, but i've yet to do my price survey.
