I was just re-reading HP and the Chamber of Secrets when Ron mentioned how Snape didn't get the Defense Against the Dark Arts job again, when the thought struck me. Maybe Dumbledore has kept Snape out of it for so long because he knew Voldemort's curse on the job would deprive him of a valuable member of the OotP and he would only give him the job the year Voldemort returned so he could properly execute his crazy plan for Snape to "kill" him (which may or may not exist..). So what do y'all think.

Indeed the Order of the Poenix is now deprived of a very good member... The fact had also strucked me. But I don't know if Dumbledore had "forseen" his own death. :confused: It seems to me a little too difficult : Snape did the Unbreakable Vow just before the sixth year at Hogwarts started, and the director is very occupied with the Horcruxes during this year.

...he would only give him the job the year Voldemort returned...Dumbledore knew Voldemort was back at the end of book four, though. Still, nice thought.
