Any character that I got bored with and thought responsible for dragging a book down. Like Mariel and Dandin in "The Bellmaker", or to just have no Veil in "Outcast" (though that would defeat the point of the book). I think most of all, Damug from "The Long Patrol" (think it was that book), I didn't care for him at all.

Response to Bladeswift's post below: I liked Yoofus because he was a "gray" character because he kept going between helping his friends and figuratively stabbing them in the back. Sure he was dishonorable at times, but he made up for it by setting up a successful trap or two and sending Doogy over the edge. Sure was funny to see Doogy and Yoofus arguing. To paraphrase, "Don't I know these woods like my dear wife's face?" "Oh, ye do, do ye? Then what colors are her eyes?" "Uh... blue? No, wait... green?" (his wife shouts that they're brown) "Oh, well, that's because I was transfixed by your lovely stare that I never noticed before!"

Every dibbun, Yoofus (by which I mean dying doing something heroic so he would have some redeeming characteristic), Scarum (again heroically so that he would have something redeeming about him), Arula.

Damug from "The Long Patrol
Ever read the end of the book?

That horrible vole in Tam, Yoofus or whatever. He annoyed me to no end.

The Wearet should never have been created in the first place.

Me, or Folgrimeo? To my knowledge he did die.

You. Yeah... I think its kinda odd to wish death on someone who gets killed anyway. ;)

Well... then I hated him so much that I wanted him to die twice. I was just thinking of characters I didn't like and Damug slipped in there. Okay, as a replacement for Damug, I'd say Boorab from Taggerung. I know he was a hare, but I thought he was boring for some reason.

Nuh-uh! Martin had to found the Abbey!

No, they were already going to found the Abbey; he helped with the construction a bit, but didn't do much outside of that, and the presence of one beast, no matter how large it may seem, is insignificant. Redwall would have been founded anyway.

Martin's one of the co-founders! Besides, Mr. Jacques wanted to bring him back for LoL.

Martin's one of the co-founders!
Still, he's not necessary.

Besides, Mr. Jacques wanted to bring him back for LoL.
But he didn't have to. No one from the Abbey even needed to travel to get the story; the whole book could have taken place on the ship, or the hare could have travelled to that Abbey and told them the story.
