View Full Version : Which page design do you like best?

Well, for the first time, my three Redwall sites all have unique designs. There's RWTV, with its simple side-bar and collage banner; there's The Redwall Newsline, emphasizing the "red" in Redwall and combining both website and forum; and there's The Long Patrol, staying true to its usual "blue" look while taking a more streamlined approach than before (and utilizing a larger amount of Redwall graphics).

Given all the time I've spent working on and revising them, I'd like to know which everyone likes the best. ;)

I'll go with the Newsline design... although the new LP design was great, too... come to think of it, I should have voted for the new LP design! :o ;)

I'm definitely going to have to say that the Newsline design is tops. I just think it shows the most organization, to be honest. Have you ever thought about combining all three different parts into one more broadly based site?

I've thought about it-- and the Newsline did start out as part of The LP-- but, for now, I like the three site set-up.

I agree... the tripartite nature of the site is intriguing. :D

I don't know... I like them all! I'm still getting over the shock of logging on and finding everything changed! :D

TLP for me.

Gotta go with the Newsline. The only thing that could make it better would be having the number 4 supporter link in huge bold letters :-D

I went with TLP too...

Looks like we've got a 50/50 split, with RWTV the undisputed 3rd. ;)

There should have been an "All three" option in that poll, Martin. <g> As it was, I went with the LP, but they ALL look great!

"Ten million curses on all musicians who do not count their rests! In my score, the horn was supposed to give the cue to the timpani, the timpani to the cymbals, the cymbals to the bass drum; the first stroke of the bass drum was the signal for the final explosion. But the accursed horn-player failed to play his note. Without it, the timpanist was afraid to come in. In consequence, cymbals and bass drum also kept silent. Absolutely nothing happened. The violins and cellos went on with their futile tremolo; otherwise, not so much as a pop...Only a composer who has himself been through such an experience can conceive the fury that possessed me. I could hardly breathe. A cry of horror burst from me. I hurled my score into the middle of the orchestra and sent the two nearest desks flying...The whole place was in an uproar...Another musical catastrophe had overtaken me..."

Excitable little fellow, wasn't he? <g>

I rather like the LP best... but then again, my favorite color is blue. ;)
I would go for the Newsline for second.

Great job on the newsline, I vote for that one.

One problem: There is still problem in RWTV with the left menu... all the diffrents links are seperated from each other

Pawflash

hehe, well I'm sure it would be 100% TRN if the fourth supporter linkwas bolded :-p

Really? It's been solid black in every browser I've tested it in.

It's all screwy for me, too... about a two-inch gap between all the buttons... :\

<TR>
<TD HEIGHT="26">
<A HREF="episodes.html">
<IMG SRC="images/eplist.gif" WIDTH=175 HEIGHT=26 BORDER=0></A></TD>

Does it show up the same way at the old url? http://members.aol.com/m3may/rwtv/

Pawflash

Yes, it's the same way at the old address, with the odd spacing

Martin the Warrior
November 1st, 2002, 08:44 PM
Odd. Well, I'll work on that. Thanks for letting me know.

Hm... you also might want to change the visited link color on the Newsline forum. It's the same color as the sidebar background.

Slagar the Cruel

Oh, yeah, I see the odd spacing in RWTV too - I thought it was intentional.

MoonShadow

Hm.... I'm not overly fond of the color of the Long Patrol site's layout, but otherwise, MoonShadow likes the layout.

dandin1
November 2nd, 2002, 12:00 PM
Well, the layout of the main LP site looks HUGE on a small screen, because of the images.

Cornflower

It looks like it has two inch spaces between the buttons on my computer too! I wonder why? :(

Martin the Warrior
November 2nd, 2002, 12:41 PM
You're all using busted browsers! ;)

Okay, let's give RWTV another try: http://rwtv.longpatrolclub.com

Cale Yin

It has a black bg now.

Martin the Warrior
November 2nd, 2002, 12:47 PM
Still the large spaces, though?

Martin the Warrior
November 2nd, 2002, 12:52 PM
Okay, I stuck in a few more specifications. Try it again.

Lyrian Aryns
November 2nd, 2002, 01:07 PM
It looks better than it did... but the spaces are still there.

Slagar the Cruel
November 2nd, 2002, 01:15 PM
Looks good to me! :D

Thus INVISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE! :p

dandin1
November 2nd, 2002, 01:47 PM
Well, it's not invisible to me, so I guess my eye is not naked? ;)

Cale Yin
November 2nd, 2002, 02:37 PM
Soup is naked.

What?

dandin1
November 2nd, 2002, 03:51 PM
What did that mean, caleyin?

Cale Yin
November 2nd, 2002, 09:10 PM
LOL... Something I tell to people when I hear either "soup" or "naked". Really. I mean in real life. It's fun.

Martin the Warrior
November 2nd, 2002, 09:13 PM
The solution may be to just image map the lefthand column, then.

Chesk Otter

The Newsline layout is the best!
