My nama Borat. Nuff said.

Who's gonna see it!? I personally can't wait. I'm a huge fan of Sacha Baron Cohen; he's hilarious.

Friday can't come soon enough.

We just happen to be online at the same time tonight ;)

Yes, I've been a fan of Cohen for a few years now; I have "Ali G Indahouse" on DVD, in which Ali G is elected a member of Parliament. Very funny. I was disappointed in Cohen's performance in Ricky Bobby though, I found it subpar. However I know people who have seen advance screenings of Borat and found it hilarious, I definitely plan on seeing it Friday.

Cohen's other character, Bruno, a gay Austrian fashion reporter, will have a movie now too some time in the next year or 2. It was a million-dollar deal I believe.

I, too, have Ali G: Indahouse on DVD. Didn't know about the Bruno thing though, sounds interesting (and funny).....

I want to see it, but will have to wait. I don't see movies in theaters. Except LOTR, opening day, in costume. And then about 50 times after that. x_X

...but the whole point of a movie is to see it in a theater.

...Not really. And I can't afford to see things in theaters unless it's something really special. I don't know how much it costs where you live, but it's like $10 here. If I had that kind of extra money, I would own more than 5 shirts. XD

You don't have student discounts? Or matinee showings? In a lot of cases the matinee is even cheaper than the student discount.

For the people that voted "No Way", why?

Just got back, the movie was hilarious.

For the people that voted "No Way", why?Lack of interest and high probability of being offended.

Lack of interest and high probability of being offended.

That's the point of comedy though, to offend.

I'd disagree with that.

Jokes, in one form or another, make a statement that is crude, crass, harsh, perverse, outlandish, or otherwise absurd. Other jokes are observational of society.

And that is why we laugh at them, because we see ourselves in the joke.

Simply put, it doesn't look funny. If I don't laugh during the commercial for it, then it gets a thumbs down.

Outlandish and absurd do not equal offensive.

So what do you find funny?

Outlandish and absurd do not equal offensive

The whole basis of the Borat character is to be outlandish and absurd.

Movies I find funny: any Monty Python, any Mel Brooks, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World

Movies that are supposedly funny that I don't find funny: Anchorman, Napolean Dynamite, Zoolander,

Draw your own conclusions from that list.

Anchorman was hilarious, ND was amusing, and Zoolander was very funny.

I'm also a big Python and Brooks fan.

Do you like sophomoric comedy? E.g, American Pie, Wedding Crashers, Ferris Bueler, Porky's, etc?

I just got back from seeing this movie. All I can say is... wow.

I haven't seen something quite this irreverent in a long time. :D

It was hilarious. Hour and a half of practically nonstop laughing (between surprised bouts of "I cannot believe he just did that...). Certainly not for the easily-offended, but otherwise I'd highly recommend it.

I'm in a blank time for cinema, because I've seen many movies the last weeks and I'm going to see more, and I can't see them all ! And definitely this one doesn't appeal me. So I won't even try to watch it, or else in some time, in DVD, at a friend's.
I'm waiting for Arthur & the Minimoys (translation by Tesra), Eragon, and... I can't remember ...
