I hope everyone here has a great Christmas! Did you get great presents? Even if you did not, there is still the warmth that comes from spending this joyous occasion with your friends and family. Remeber that Christmas is not about recieving it is about giving.

With that in mind, how was your Christmas?

My family celebrated gift-giving on Christmas Eve, a tradition. (It was also the only day I had off work.) Hopefully Friday we'll be dining out at our favorite Italian place.

What I gave:
A necklace for my mother
A mantle clock for my grandparents
Book of speeches by famous orators for my uncle
CrosswordDS for my aunt (Yes, she has a Nintendo DS. As do my grandparents.)
Wall-E for my youngest cousin
Iron Man for my second youngest cousin
Made of Honor for my oldest

What I received:
Prince of Persia
Warlords- a documentary on the political leaders during the Second World War
A GPS for my car
An office chair
The Dark Knight
Tickets to see Lewis Black perform at the local comedy club
Sherman- a biography of the Civil War Union general
Myth of the Great War
Cross of Iron: The Rise and Fall of the German War Machine 1918-1945

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. Cheers.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Stay warm. :)

I only sent cards this holiday since I'm dirt poor. Hey, it's the thought that counts.

My presents -
Prince of Persia
A full coyote pelt
A coyote and badger skull that were painted to look like steel/gold
Moribito: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit vol. 1 & 2
Kaleido Star complete collection
A blanket
A lamp
A queen size mattress (which I can't use since the guys couldn't get it in my room and it'll take 2 weeks to get something that'll fix that. I'll be back at college by then. -_-; )

Me and my sisters also received Rock Band for the Wii. And I've been playing Animal Crossing on my little sister's new DS. We'll probably just vegg out in our pjs for the rest of the day, having a big Christmas dinner be darned. Although I did say I was going to cook some chili in the crock pot using the elk meat we have. Hmm.. I better get started on that. Hope everybody is having a swell time!!

Just wanted to say I also got a Nintendo 64 from Ferahgo.

I got it in the mail on the 23rd, and the list above is of stuff I got on the 24th. So I forgot about the 64 when I was writing it. Sorry Ferahgo. ;)

And much thanks. <3

*goes back to playing Starfox 64 until he can go to the local game store tomorrow and relive his childhood*

Edit: Also, LadyBeelze, I want that coyote skull. It sounds awesome.

Merry Christmas, everyone. Mine's been pretty enjoyable, as I always like to visit the family (especially for the cooking).

From my family I received mostly clothes and books, though I'm not complaining. From my friends I got everything from Metal Gear Solid figures to books, video games and a Galileo thermometer. Good times all around.

I've had a really, really awesome day.

Woke up at quarter to seven, which gave me fifteen minutes to enjoy the tree before opening presents--and time to speculate on what the Big Present would be. The largest package had my name on it...a stool? A chair? A giant bean bag?

A suitcase with a bunch of other suitcases inside, like Russian dolls.
Stockings contained candy and, for me, a cloth banana filled with Scrabblesque tiles for a new game: "Bananagrams". I got a great haul of under-the-tree presents, mostly books. Everything from Roger Angell, which I'd asked for, to a book called "This Is Not A Book." My kind of thing.

I wrote acrostic poems for my family (mostly sonnets--my dad's name is too short) explaining how I'd failed to get any decent gifts. (My brother's "iPod Nano" was nanotech and far too small to see, eBay crashed before I could bid on the Illinois Senate seat for my dad, my sister wanted a hippopotamus for Christmas and didn't get one, and I lost the remote control for my mom's gift--one of those locator thingies to find lost keys, etc.)

After church, we cleaned up for my mom's family. Her oldest sister has always hosted, but she was out of town, so another sister's family and my grandparents came over here. The big meal did not include lasagna, which my dad had wanted but my mom must have talked him out of it as they'd been fighting over it. We played Bananagrams, a new version of Apples to Apples (new gift), Euchre, and more Bananagrams.

After the guests left, we played Mousetrap (also a new gift) and ate real cheese. Now going to eat garlic bread. Awesome, awesome day.

Happy Holidays everyone! I had a good day yesterday. Got to watch a few movies, had spagetti for dinner and then went and saw a movie with a friend. I got tons of clothes for christmas which I am very happy for, I really needed some new clothes. I also got a 25 dollar gift certificate to JC Penny so I can buy more clothes. And a 25 dollar gift certificate to Barnes and Noble, I need new books. Oh I also got the book Inkheart, can't wait to read it, it looks good.

Oh I also got the book Inkheart, can't wait to read it, it looks good.

Inkheart was wonderful. I never finished the other two, haven't yet, I will, but I can't wait for the movie. Andy Serkis will be awesome as the villain, and Mo was (literally) made for Brendan Fraser.

As for my Christmas, I got Casino Royale from myself, a cool calendar, and the Faerie Queen by Edward Spenser. As well as a stocking with loot in it. And then we watched Casino Royale yesterday, a movie I had been wanting to see for a long time, especially after watching Quantum of Solace.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas (and it sounds like everyone did!)! :D I had a lovely holiday with my family and got some great gifts (lots of surprises!).

It seems hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone. 2008 went by rather quickly (at least it seemed like it did).

Merry late Christmas!

It sounds like everyone had a great time. :D

Mine was pretty good. The usual thing.

I gave. . .
an iPod Nano to my mom
Shaving cream to my dad (it is SO hard to buy for him)
This hat I spent way too much on for my sister even though she doesn't deserve it
Twilight soundtrack and penguin socks for my BFF

I got. . .
a stereo for my car! YAY! It's iPod compatible; goodbye to those annoying CDs!
Soap and lotion from my sister
headlights for my car from my dad (the ones with the blue light bulbs so I can actually see)
and shirts from my mom, which were all of course the wrong size
Borders gift card

We went to my cousin's house and watched Stardust, and then the adults went to talk politics, so I got really bored and read Eclipse.
