The mirror

Everyone remembers at the end of the book, where Harry unwraps Sirius's package that he gave him, and it turned out to be that mirror, yes? The one where you can communicate with whoever has its double? And Harry got mad and threw it in his trunk?

Who else thinks that that mirror's going to be important later? I certainly do. J.K. Rowling wouldn't put it in there at the end for no reason.

The mirror broke, but Harry could probably fix it with a wave of his wand. My theory is that *someone* is going to be using those mirrors soon. Probably Harry and someone else, maybe even Sirius, or someone who find's Sirius's copy of the mirror.

What do you guys think?

It could be like the Palantir in LOTR, though I think Rowling would be foolish to do that as anything that is a copy of Tolkein or appears to be is spotted very quickly and easily.

the mirror didn't remind me of tolkien.....I think it will be used with like Harry and Ron or Hagrid.

Yeah, I was wondering what the purpose of the mirror was if Harry didn't even use it....

Well.... when I read it, it took a while for it to sink in that Sirius had died. I still don't fully believe he's dead, actually. He just went through the veil-like thing, right? So, either he is still alive, or, Voldemort (or someone else) can use a similar method as in the book to either kill Harry or torture him to insanity like Neville's parents. Because Harry is so distraught, it would be very easy to plant the seed of doubt that perhaps Sirius /is/ still alive. The wizard or witch on the other end of the mirror could easily disguise themselves to look like Sirius, and could talk to Harry, and, um, stuff.

Another probability: No one ever said that just because the mirror was broken meant that it could not function. The pieces could easily get scattered and be used as cameras to observe what was going on.... *thinks* Or does the mirror only work when Sirius and Harry are at either ends?
