View Full Version : Name that Song

Just a little game. ..
Ok , somone'll post some lyrics to a song and you have to guess the name of it and the artist it is by. I'll start. This one should be easy...
I dig my toes into the sand
The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket
I lean against the wind
Pretend that I am weightless
And in this moment I am happy...happy
You don't have to wait for somone to guess these lyrics to post your own. Have fun!

Incubus- Wish you were here (I think that's the song...)
Some boys romance, some boys slow dance
That's all right with me
If they can't raise my interest then I
Have to let them be
Some boys try and some boys lie but
I don't let them play
Only boys who save their pennies
Make my rainy day, 'cause they are
(chorus)...

Well, it's mostly the same as the old board. I think I'll get used to it.

*throws his bola into Rollo's face*
Your first mistake was posting in the wrong thread.
*smashes Rollo into a table*
Your second mistake was having a negative outlook towards the new LP.
*kicks Rollo off the bridge*
And your THIRD mistake was messing with ME!
;) JK... that's actually paraquoted from a movie...

My hands are tied
My body bruised, she's got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose

I cheated. :o I won't do it again.
Snap back to reality, Oh! there goes gravity
Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked
He's so mad, but he won't give up that
Is he? No
He won't have it , he knows his whole back city's ropes
That should be easy.

Eminem- Lose Yourself
Once upon a time
Not so long ago...
Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
He's down on his luck...it's tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man
she brings home her pay
For love....for love

You are wrong....what I mean by this is that you are wrong at being wrong, thus you are rightly wrong, meaning that you are right....

How'd bout a harder one? At least, I think it'd be harder...don't know what songs people know well/don't know well... anyway:
I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

I think we should have more than one going at once, since I don't know that one. :P It sounds like maybe Elvis, but I'm terrible at guessing.
Now everyone of us was made to suffer
Everyone of us was made to weep
But we've been hurting one another
And now the pain has cut too deep...
So take me from the wreckage
Save me from the blast
Lift me up and take me back
Don't let me keep on walking...

That song sounds a little familiar Cale.

More than one going at once? Sure! >:D
No gold pavements
Tired starlings
Silver horses
Ran down moonbeams
In your dark eyes
Dawn-light smiled

Darn... you got it. ;)
How about this one?
When all of a sudden
There shined a shiny demon
In the middle
OF THE ROAD!
And he said...
Well, the thing he says would give it away. ;)

I feel the need to... bug everyone... Maybe you'll all remember...
I feel your fever
From miles around
I'll pick you up in my car
And we'll paint the town
Just kiss me baby
And tell me twice
That you're the one for me
;)

OK, time for a hard one. :)
As I travel down life's highways
Thinking of days gone by
I'm a city man, but my heart
Keeps yearning for secluded countryside
In a place where no one's a stranger
Say "Hello" and "How are you"
Let the music play
In the middle of the day
Smell the sweet morning dew.

Do you know this one?
What's the use of tryin'?
All you get is pain
When I wanted sunshine
I got rain!

*reads thread, blinks, rubs eyes, and rereads thread, utterly amazed at what she has found* Wow. Lyrian-the-nerd actually knows one.
Cornflower's is "I'm a Believer" originally by the Monkees... then some band with a weird name that I cannot for the life of me remember remade it for the movie Shrek. Oh well. :\
I would add a song of my own, but as there's already six out there I will refrain fom doing so...

I wana do one so we're going to make the list 7. :p
Oh mirror in the sky,
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changin'
Ocean tides? Can I
Handle the seasons of my life?
I think it's reasonably difficult but I could be wrong.

Oh bugger...I guess I'll reduce it back down to 6 by answering Slagar's...Tribute by Tenacious D! Muah ha ha ha ha ha!
