    The thankfulness thread. (Officially the forums worst titled thread).

    Okay, to pump a little bit of positive energy back into the forum I thought it might be good to have a thread where we talk about what pleases us and makes us happy rather than what just annoys us.

    Here's my starters:

    Hearing my brother singing and dancing along to music, when it doesn't stop me doing work I need to do.

    Birthdays. Everyone seems so happy. Yesterday someone threw a party and it was great! I went on a bouncy castle for the first time in I don't know how many years. The myth that being 17 should prevent people from doing that kind of thing on their birthday has to be stopped.

    People singing is always great, everybody giving it everything together.

    Playing sports but not taking it too seriously and being able to laugh when being beaten.

    Home-baked cooking, especially cakes.

    People telling you you're capable of something.

    Sharing something with someone and understanding others better.

    Summer thunderstorms make me happy, and especially right after, when everything is calm and quiet and the air smells clean.

    Dancing makes me happy. And so does my dog.

    I like the smell of grass.

    I like sleeping late, but I love being awake for the morning hours. Trouble is, on the rare occasion I wake up early, I'm too tired to enjoy it. Blah. Or I have to wait for three people to use the shower before me.

    Whoopie pies make me happy. So does the song, "Caribbean Blue" (which stopped me from throwing up because of anxiety ) and "Yerushalayim shel Zahav", which just so happens to be playing right now.

    What a cool thread. It makes you feel happy and incredibly exceedingly sappy, too.

    Too true. I play with Legos.

    Okay, my List of Happy:

    Drawing. We all know I like to draw. Helps me get ideas out, and calms me down. My school binders are covered in doodles.

    Similarly, comics. They're a bit different from my regular drawings. I have a roster of characters who appear, most of whom are based on people I know. I put a ton of inside jokes in my comics, most of them from school, and most of those from Biology. Oddly enough, they help get feelings out too.

    Roaring down the road on a four wheeler at full speed really gets rid of stress. Our camp is near a dirt road that no one ever goes on. It's perfect.

    Bubble wrap. It's the ultimate inside joke. "Small things amuse small minds".

    There are probably some other things I like, but I forgot. Eh, I'll remember eventually.

    Things I'm thankful for are:

    Rainy days and thunderstorms. I guess it's because I live in a desert-ish area...

    The freedom and peace of mountains, country, and wilderness. It's just good to get away from it all at times.

    The simple joys and jokes between family members.

    Autumn weather, when the leaves of the trees in the canyons and mountains turn brilliant colors of red, orange, yellow, and brown. The spicy smells of Thanksgiving dinner, the chilly, crisp air outside, and the overcast skies.

    Dancing to your favorite song without caring about what other people think.

    Camping during the summer. Being able to stare up at the sky full of stars and the misty milky way. Toasting marshmellows, getting sticky, dirty hands, and setting your roasting stick on fire.

    Just simple stuff like that makes me happy.

    Friends make me happy. When i'm sad they're there to listen to my problems and blow out day-ly stress or crack a lame joke that i laugh at anyway. Especially this year when i felt sucidal, they all made a humongous jokebook.

    Chocolate is another thing. Or twinkies or anything very high in sugar. One large dose of chocolate and you instantly forget what you were mad/sad about.

    Drawing! Like senav said, its very relaxing. And it gives me something to do instead of just waisting my time doing nothing or playing old card games with my friends.

    The smell just before it starts to rain. It's so soothing and relaxing. Plus the sky is all dark. I just enjoy that immensly (on the other hand i abolutely had hot weather for the most part).

    And spanish. Without i wouldn't be able to insult people and not get in trouble. Or say something totally nice and people think it's a insult anyway. Jus change tone of voice and it works.

    School..it gives me stuff to do.

    Being an optimist, this topic is quite easy for me. Let's see, I'm thankful for...

    * Life.
    * Other people.
    * A home.
    * A family.
    * Water.
    * Food.
    * A good upbringing.
    * A future with hope.
    * Motivation to live.

    There are other things, too, which can be summed up neatly with "Religion".

    Hey, buds. I haven't been here in, well, a good while. Last visited January 9th...Well, I'm sorry to have forgotten you guys. Some of you (Most, I hope) will remember me, and others will, I'm sure, have been told about me, and warned to lock up their daughters and wives. Heh. Anyway, I'm posting a thread about my future here, so...get over there. Read it.

    I'm thankful people can still find joy in an inflatable bouncy thingy.

    I'm thankful for my family, my pets, my home, basically, I'm thankful for my life.

    I'm thankful that my sister got home from Alaska safely today. I hope she has a safe flight to Colorado tomorrow.

    I'm also thankful that I have a chance to earn much needed cash.

    I'll post more later.

    reading redwall all day makes me happy
    Who says that I am dead
    Knows nought at all.
    I-am that is,
    Two mice within Redwall.
    The Warrior sleeps
    'Twix Hall and Cavern Hole.
    I-am that is,
    Take on my mighty role
    Look for my sword
    In moonlight streaming forth,
    At night, when day's first hour
    Reflects the North.
    From o'er the threshold
    Seek and you will see;
    I- am that is,
    My sword will weild for me.
