    Newsline stuff

    First, you missed this

We are excited to announce that Redwall La Dita has negotiated with Random House children's books (UK) a special reprint of the hardback UK edition of Brian Jacques first novel, Redwall (previously out of print).

This book is exclusive to Redwall La Dita Book club. Each book is individually numbered (edition number xyz of 500) and signed by the author.

Author's Limited Edition Redwall - exclusively available from Redwall La Dita book shop - price only 12.99.
Second, I was reviewing Ask BJ at redwall.org, and was curious if you knew anything on these topics:

    136. I have read the library, and found that you said all your songs have tunes. Could you possibly show us Redwall-loving piano players the bare notes? (Selena Beckman-Harned, Cary, North Carolina)

You will have to wait for the film, or if you are anywhere near Delaware, The opera Redwall which will premier next March.
Redwall opera? Was that serious? If so I want more details about that.

    Finally,

    50. What will the Redwall CD be like? (Josh Luxenberg, Baltimore, Maryland)

It will be a concordance of the world of Redwall, with users able to visit places in the tales and access information about characters storylines etc. I will be doing a commentary and a potted history of me too! There will be no 'Game' element to it although we hope that we can incorporate Quiz and riddle elements as they are almost always part of the stories. This will not be available until the Film/T.V. series is up and running because of the tie in with artwork which will be necessary. Estimates now are Spring 1998.
    This was scrapped wasnt it?

It was real, it was only performed a few times in the Delaware area, and was attended by BJ & his family, Troy Howell, and Christopher Denise. I think there were pictures a few years back but if they're still out there I don't know where they are.

    ok did some personal research.

    Found opera photos:

    http://www.redwall.org/dave/opera.html

    There is no soundtrack available.

Found the script for the musical:

    http://www.dramaticpublishing.com/pd...RedwallR06.pdf

(might be something for your archive Martin?)

whats strange is, the word 'Alleluia' is in the script...which means 'praise to God'.

Wow, the Redwall Opera Script! That's really interesting. The only thing is, it's only an excerpt - however, there is an ISBN and when I searched for it at Barnes and Noble, this came up. I wonder if you can order a copy of the full script used anywhere?

They really should make a Redwall Opera Cast Recording CD. Those songs sound interesting. BTW, I found the entire list of songs used in the play at a website of a company who performed the show, and it is below:

    Solo Songs
    #4 The Grace - Methuselah
    #12 Basil's Song - Basil
    #15 I am Sela - Sela
#29 Most Beautiful Day - Abbot

    Duets
    # 21 Whenever you see - Basil & Jess
    # 16 Chickenhound, Song & Reprise - Chickenhound & Pigeon Thief
    # 20 Dunwing's Song - Warbeak & Dunwing
    #?? Cornflower and Matthias

    Solo and Small Group
#13 The Mole Song - Foremole
    #17 Warbeak's Song
    #24 Song of the Shrews
    #26 Song of Asmodeus
    #28 Warbeak and Shrews Reprise

    Solo and Chorus
    #7 Cluny the Scourge
    #3 The Legend - Abbot
    #4 The Feast - Hugo
    #19 King Sparra's Song
    #23 Whenever - Basil
    #29 Finale - Frogblood

    Chorus
    #2 Brothers and Sisters
    #5 We'll be ready
    #8 The Legend
    #10 Cluny Cluny

Hey, buds. I haven't been here in, well, a good while. Last visited January 9th...Well, I'm sorry to have forgotten you guys. Some of you (Most, I hope) will remember me, and others will, I'm sure, have been told about me, and warned to lock up their daughters and wives. Heh. Anyway, I'm posting a thread about my future here, so...get over there. Read it.

I thought posts like that were discouraged... eh.

I'd see Redwall Opera if Josh Groban and Sarah McLachlan were in it. ESPECIALLY Josh Groban. Gaaaah.

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
    We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
    Puzzle pieces from the clay...

They will see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'Come down now...' but we'll stay...

Sarah Mclachlan has a great voice, the only problem is she uses it for her crazy indie rock or whatever AAAAAAAA

Her electronic remixes are so great. We of the electronic/house/dance music world thing she needs to either
    A) Release an all electronic cd
    B) Release a double cd(1 electronic, 1 indie or whatever)
    C) Release an acapella cd Jay-Z style and let DJs go nuts

    They are.

We should try to keep one-line posts to a minimum, and certainly try to avoid conversations that consist of nothing but them.
