Should a villain win for once?

Ok, I love the Redwall books, and as far as I'm concerned Brian J. can do no wrong, but I do have one qualm with his writing. The bad guys never win! I know he is showing their true craven hearts, but I want to see a strong villain for once, one that fights with bravery to the bitter end, even if they don't win. I have grown tired of seeing them all beg for mercy and cower and flee, give me a vermin with backbone who has the skills to match! I want a winner! So tell me, do I make a valid point or am I imagining things? What does everyone think!

There have been several villians who meet your criteria. Gulo, Ferahgo, Urgan Nagru are a few that come to mind.
Enter the Castle of Professor Falliss. Who knows: you might make it out alive.

Hmm, you are very right. I suppose what I really wanted to ask for was a villain who won, I should have phrased that better.

    Sorry there are copies

Ok, sorry bout this guys. What happened was I just joined this sweet site yesterday and started browsing under general discussions board. I then posted this thread, and one about how many more Redwall books will be written. The next day(well today) I came back here to check out the site some more, and I noticed that The Bookshelf section was much more appropriate for my two threads. So I made new, nearly identical ones. But apparently the postmaster(or whoever) noticed too and sent this one and my other thread from Gen. Dissc. over to The Bookshelf, and that is why there are two! Sorry!

Yes it would be nice to see a villian who fights with honor but insane villians seem to be the trendy thing so I doubt it will ever happen

The only villian that even might have the chance would be another even stronger wolverine.
