My Story Idea (Good or Bad)

I am going to start writing a Redwall-based fan fic. My idea: make up another abbey or something and make its inhabitants native to my continent, North America. Keep in mind that even though some animals live in Europe and North America I probably won't use them in my abbey or whatever(example: mice live in North America and Europe but I won't use them in my abbey or whatever).I (probably; I might have to do more research on where they live) will use raccoons, porcupines, possums, chipmunks, and others.

Sounds like it could be interesting, LT. Would this take place in Mossflower, or somewhere in an Americanish place?

It will probably take place somewhere in Mossflower.

Also, I probably will use prairie dogs, cougars (a. k. a. mountain lions, cougars, and panthers), bears, coyotes, lemmings and muskrats (though I am currently using them both in a Redwall fan fic where they come to the actual abbey).

However, the animals in my story might meet the actual series' animals.

Probably not, Urgan was a wolf in the Redwall series.

    My Story Idea

I have a story idea quite similar to your's; Only my goodbeasts go like this:
    · Badgers
    · Bats
    · Beavers
    · Chipmunks
    · Hare/Rabbits
    · Mice
    · Moles
    · Otters
    · Squrriels and
    · Shrews

Both Europe and North American, and it is setted in a kingdom (not abbey) complete with a castle; and they ride Deer like horses.

Um Not to be Rude but let me point out the Urgan was not a wolf. He was a Fox that had Slayed a wolf and he wore the skins, it was never said in the book that wolves were good or bad, so could you please make them good.

Actually you are wrong. The Foxwolf Urgan Nagru supposedly slew the wolf Urgan but really he just froze to death. If you think I am stupid and don't know as much as you about the Redwall series you are wrong. I know Redwall...a lot.

By the way, the past tense of slay is slew, not slayed.

Woah, woah, woah. She didn't mean it that way. She just got Urgan and Urgan Nagru confused because Urgan wasn't a main character. He just had a couple paragraphs about how Urgan Nagru said he "Slew that wolf".

You do know this is one of those topics where people don't have enough heart or rudeness to criticize you, right? (That's a good thing.)

I guess it's okay. It's not really Redwall based, though, because if you're making an entirely different Abbey in an entirely different place with entirely different species, there's not much resemblance, is there? Unless you include the same customs, hierarchy and traditions Redwallers, Guosim and vermin have.

I voted that it's a good idea, but I don't think it would be realistic to have the abbey set in Mossflower if it has American animals. It would be interesting, however, to write about a parallel of Redwall Abbey somewhere in North America, but then you'd have to be satisfied with them not interacting with the known Redwall universe - unless you want to have some Mossflower explorers show up via ship.
