    Favorite Voice Performance

Which of the voice performances from the Redwall series would you say was the best? (By "Redwall" I mean all three seasons, of course.)

My top pick would be Richard Binsley. His delivery of the classic hare personality was top-notch, and I doubt very much that any sequential hare voices will top it. His humorous introduction to Basil ("Read your mind, sah! Neither mad, nor dangerous!") is, in my opinion, one of the best moments of the series - it really captures the spirit of Redwall.

I'd place Diego Matamoros' Cluny voice in second. It's an extremely good villain voice - it sounds right shouting war-cries, yelling at bumblers, speaking soft words of evil, and even screaming in terror, to a degree. His Badrang was good, too.

For third, I'll go with Tim Curry's Slagar. Tim Curry has a great villain voice - if it wasn't for the fact that it slightly contrasts with the raspy, hateful tone which I always personally imagined, I'd place this performance at the top of my list.

My favorites are the same as your's, Slagar...though different order...

My top would be Diego Matamoros as Cluny and Badrang...great villain voice for both of them...

Richard Binsley would be next, not just for Basil but for the various other characters he did that sounded completely different then the hare...

I always enjoy Tim Curry's voice work (well, except for Peter Pan and the Pirates (fun fact: he won an Emmy for that 'un...)...I hated that show...and it was on FOREVER >:(), one of the best villain actors out there... thusly, I liked him as Slagar. Maybe I would have envisioned (or whatever the term is for voices) a different voice for him if I had read the book before I saw the show....but I didn't so I guess I'll never know! Muah ha ha ha ha ha!

Honorable mention would be John Stocker (it WAS John Stocker, right? I get him confused with the guy who did Father Mortimer) as Cheesethief...I just liked the voice with that character...

Besides the ones that have been mentioned, the voices on the Redwall series that I really liked are: Amos Crawley's Martin, Lindsay Conell's Rose(especially the Noonvale song in the last episode), and Michel Seater's Mattimeo.

    Question

Darkhood, Alison Pill(Redwall) or Mellissa McIntyre(Mattimeo)?

Diego Matamoros and Richard Binsley are tied. They both did great voices in my opinion. Basil's voice was my first impression for all the hares I read about later.
Second...ah, I dunno. The voices are great, but if you stuck me on a torture rack and made me make a split second choice, I'd choose *takes paper from envelope and unfolds it*
Cap'n Tramun Clogg! I can't recall his VA, but I like his voice, even though it was sometimes hard to understand.

    Award goes to: MTW

I am going to say, that the voices of the characters in Martin the warrior was done well.
Get out of my mind, idea! I already have another idea in my head that I am working on!

I loved Constance's voice, who ever did it. (I forget) Its the best so far, but that might change, as I haven't seen the other series yet.

They said "Darkhood" because they were responding to your post regarding Cornflower's voice-actress (in short, telling you who it was).

Actually, Dark, he was addressing you... More specifically, answering the question you asked.
"She doesn't talk much, does she?"
"No, she's always quiet. We think maybe there's something wrong with her."
"Yes... or something very right. The quiet ones are the ones that change the universe, Luc Deradi. The loud ones only take the credit."

Yeah, Basil Stag Hare's was absolutely perfect for him. I liked Matthias's voice in Redwall because it was cool. (I dunno... I just remember liking it when I first saw the very end of an eppy)

First, I would say whoever did Martin(in MTW). So perfect, whatever his name is! He hit a nice balance of youth, intelligence, warrior-ness and whatever else made it nice.

Second would be to Basil, whatever his name is. He did it just as I imagined any hare would talk.

Third would probably be a toss up of Rose or Badrang. I just really enjoyed them.
